Governance and Compliance

Four questions we ask before every signature, and the checks behind them.

Compliance

Counterparty due diligence

Before any offer becomes a contract, we need to know who we are dealing with. We ask the same of ourselves.

  • Company registration and authorised signatories
  • Beneficial ownership and source-of-funds review
  • Sanctions and restricted-party screening
  • Bank confirmation of the payment instrument
  • Records kept for every transaction

Conduct

Four questions before every signature

  • Do we know exactly who the counterparty is, and who owns it?
  • Is the payment instrument acceptable and issued by a sound bank?
  • Does the cargo, route and destination clear sanctions screening?
  • Can we prove the specification with an independent certificate?

Only when all four answers are yes does an offer become a contract.
